Our hearing protection initiative has been recognised by British Glass at the annual Glass Focus Awards in Manchester.
We were over the moon when Beatson Clark won the Health and Safety Action award sponsored by Glass International.
Our Sales and Marketing Director Dawn Pugh, Marketing Manager Charlotte Pike and Health and Safety Manager Diane Bainbridge attended the awards ceremony at the National Football Museum on 16th November and were excited to receive the award.
Occupational noise-induced hearing loss is a widespread health issue, and we recognise that the hearing protection devices we provide for our employees are individual and require correct fitting to provide the appropriate level of protection.
We’ve now invested in hearing protection test validation equipment which measures any noise leakage, ensuring that the hearing protection our employees use is effective.
Beatson Clark is the first glass manufacturer in the UK to use the 3M E-A-Rfit Dual-Ear Validation System and since being introduced earlier this year, the equipment has produced excellent results.
It ensures that the hearing protection devices worn by workers offer the intended level of noise reduction. The level of protection is measured directly and objectively, without the need for the employee to listen or respond to the test signals.
