Glass Recycling Process

Onsite glass recycling plant

Using recycled materials in glass production helps to reduce energy and therefore is an important aspect when it comes to sustainable production. Increasing the percentage of recycled materials within the melting operation also reduces CO2.

The majority of our post-consumer recycled glass (cullet) is generated by our own on-site recycling plant. This reduces transportation miles within our supply chain and give us greater quality control.

Using magnets, manual and vacuum systems, and advanced optical sorters, we process approx. 44,000 tonnes of glass each year. The glass containers are recovered from kerbside collections, bottle banks and the hospitality trade. This is then melted in our furnaces and made into new bottles and jars.
